NEW CONCERT PLATFORM
Our Artistic Director’s idea of creating a new classical music festival where top names in the industry would share the same stage with the younger generation of performers alongside amateur pianists and children, seemed to some like a utopian dream when it began in 2013. Today the festival’s community of professional concert pianists, world-renowned guest artists and participants of all generations, abilities and countries is steadily growing, with a rush of invitations to establish new residencies both at home and abroad. 2018 marks the second year of PIANO WEEK touring internationally to Germany, Italy, China and Thailand whilst extending its UK residency at Moreton Hall School to three weeks in the spring and the summer.
ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE
In only five years of our presence on the classical music scene, we have welcomed major names in the piano world such as Stephen Kovacevich, Leon McCawley, Chenyin Li and David Fung as our guest artists. With many of them returning, we continue to extend invitations to other word-class artists to join us at our international residencies.
BUILDING LOCAL AUDIENCES
Bringing classical music, our expertise and artistic vision to new locations around the world, PIANO WEEK can make a difference by helping to build local audiences and promote classical music in general. Through engaging all our participants in public performances, from the young beginners to the advanced adult amateur pianists, coupled with affordable ticket prices for all of our professional concerts and a friendly and open-minded approach, we are committed to the idea of inspiring and educating new concert goers of tomorrow.
