Celebrating its fifth season in Shropshire, International Festival & Summer School PIANO WEEK returns to Moreton Hall School in Weston Rhyn once in the spring and twice in the summer of 2020. With many of the festival’s high-calibre performances planned in honour of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, coupled with the opening of the new Holroyd Community Theatre where all concerts will take place, this residency is not to be missed. The summer school part of PIANO WEEK runs in conjunction with the festival and offers participants of any age and ability an opportunity to study with a distinguished faculty of concert artists, pedagogues and educators in the heart of the stunning English countryside. Other international residencies in 2020 include Rugby (UK), Foligno (Italy), Tokyo (Japan) and Online Edition (Worldwide).

Those attending PIANO WEEK Weston Rhyn will be able to choose between our standard or intensive course options, with the latter one boasting an additional five one-to-one piano lessons over the six-day period. Residential participants will enjoy twin study bedrooms with bathroom facilities (limited single rooms and en suite accommodation are available upon request at an additional cost and offered on a first come first served basis). All meals and snacks are provided and any dietary needs catered for.
Moreton Hall School facilities are available to all of our residential participants and include:
- High-speed Wi-Fi
- 100 acres of beautiful, safe grounds
- 9-hole golf course
- Indoor 25-metre heated pool
- Modern sports hall
- Fitness suite
- All weather surface pitches and playing fields
- Tennis courts
- Dining hall
- Health centre

Weston Rhyn is situated just one hour from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool international airports and is within easy reach of the historic towns of Shrewsbury and Chester. Airport transfers can be organised at an additional cost. The nearest National Rail station is Gobowen, a 5-minute drive from the the school.

- One-to-one & duet lessons
- Harmony, pedalling, fingering and memorisation classes (adults)
- Composition classes (with a chance to perform their own composition)
- Seminars on how to practise
- Sight reading classes
- Listening and theory classes (children)
- Talks on stage presentation & history of the piano
- Informal concerts and discussion forums
- Multiple performance opportunities
- Free entry to faculty recitals
In addition, those enrolled on one of the summer school’s programmes will be entitled to exclusive offers from the festival’s partners.
